In 2007, an information technology consultant and a PhD from Kansas got into a discussion about a book one of them had run across that was essentially a compilation of hard decisions made by regular folks like you and me. Each vignette was written in first person and demonstrated how the individual dealt with each situation. The two realized that in comparison to the stories chronicled in this book, their lives were relatively un-eventful. Nevertheless, they found themselves fascinated with the enormity of many of those hard decisions and wondered how they would have dealt with the same situation had the roles been reversed. Would others be just as intrigued? They wanted to find a way to capture this fascination and put it out on the world wide web. The idea was to create a website where people could come to not only share their past hardest decisions with others, but to also seek advice for hard decisions they were currently facing.
It was not until June of 2010 that the original vision came to fruition as hardestdecision.com. In many ways, hardestdecision.com is a sociological experiment. It will be interesting to see how quickly the site catches on, or if it catches on at all. You can help! Post your hardest decision, comment and vote on the other hard decisions, and tell your friends about us! Help us make hardestdecision.com a success!
